Joel Meakem

Services will be held on Saturday March 23, 2024 at CrossRoads Christian Fellowship located at 77 Albany Ave, Kingston, NY 12401.

The wake will be from 11am to 12pm. Memorial Service starting at 12pm.

Joel Meakem, 52, died unexpectedly Tuesday March 19, 2024. He was born April 10, 1971 in Willimantic, Connecticut.

Joel worked at Rent-A-Center as a manager, and took pride in his work. He is remembered as a hard worker who did what he had to do for his family. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing video games. Joel was also a talented poker player. In his earlier years he would take his children to the local YMCA or park where he would enjoy playing basketball. Above all,  Joel loved his children and his family.

Surviving are his children Darian Niekamp and her husband Matt, Brandon Meakem and his wife Sydney, Sydnie Jansen and her husband Anthony, and Sebastian Meakem. Grandchildren Lucas and Aria Niekamp, Caleb, Helena, and Emery Meakem. Two sisters, Francine Meakem and Harrella Joseph. Along with many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

He is predeceased by his father Francis Meakem and his grandmother Barbara Meeks.
