There will be brief calling hours held at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home in Kingston from 9:30 to 11am on Tuesday, February 11, followed by a funeral service at St Joseph's Church in Kingston.
John R. Celuch, originally of Kingston, NY and most recently of Framingham, MA, passed away on February 6 at the age of 88. John, known to his friends and family as Richie, was born and raised in Kingston, son of John and Blanche Celuch and brother of Elizabeth Crespino, all deceased. He graduated from Kingston High School in 1953, was later drafted into the US Army, then began a thirty-eight year career at IBM in Kingston. A soft-spoken man, he chose to demonstrate his heart with small gestures, like tickling his kids/grandkids' feet.
John is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Patricia Celuch, originally of Kingston, NY, his four children, Deborah Celuch of Ashland, MA, Diane Bechard (Mark Bechard) of Meredith, NH, David Celuch of Portland, OR, and Denise Celuch of Watertown, MA, and his three grandchildren, Nicholas Bechard of Boston, MA, Allison Bechard of Ashland, MA, and Sarah Bechard of Ashland, MA.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and therapists at both Brigham & Women's Hospital and Metrowest Medical Center, Carlyle House rehabilitation center, and his home caregivers for the dedicated service that allowed us to have this last year with him.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society in John's name.
