John P. "Jack" Douglas,
of Hurley, New York died at his home Wednesday November 29. 2023 with his family at his side.
John was born in Kingston, NY on June 21, 1937, a son of the late Margaret (Tetley) and John P. Douglas, Sr.
He served in the U.S. Army and US Army Reserve for 8 years. He was a Steamfitter and Welder as a member of Local 201/21 in Peekskill, New York for 65 years. He also was a small business owner of JM Welding & Sons for 10 years after retiring from the union. Jack could never sit still and worked for the Town of Hurley Recycling Center for 10 years.
Jack was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman. He loved to hunt and fish with his sons and close friends.
Surviving are, his wife of sixty three years, Joan (Kolodziejski) Douglas, Children; Kelly Douglas Vilches and her husband Bruce, David John Douglas, and Keith Alan Douglas and companion Tasha Berzal, two sisters, Barbara Grossbohlin and her husband Arthur, Christine Morley and her husband Dennis. A brother, James Douglas and his wife Virginia. Grandchildren; Ryan Vilches, Corinne Lee and her husband Derrick, Nicholas Douglas and Garrett Douglas and his wife Kelsie. Greatgrandchildren; Caiden and Lukas Lee and Macee Douglas.
