Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday from 5 to 7pm.

A funeral service will be held Friday 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, Pastor Frank Romanek, Jr. will officiate.

Burial to follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.

Jon L. Johnston, 79, died at the Northeast Center for Special Care on Monday March 17, 2024. Jon was born in Kingston, on August 31, 1944, a son of the late Geraldine (Schoonmaker) Fassbender  and Harold  Johnston.

For many years Jon resided at Yosman Towers in Kingston.  He was employed as a custodian for the Kingston City Schools until retirement.

Surviving are  a half brother, Albert Fassbender and his wife Ruthann. Nephews: Fredrick (Tuck) Faerber (Joanne), John David (JD) Faerber. Nieces: Bonnie Coliukos, Stephanie Brosnan (Kevin), Stacey Dellasala (Joseph). Step niece and nephews: Catherine Schulte, Timothy Smith and his wife Rosa, Josh Fassbender, Stephen Smith and his partner Laura. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Joanne Faerber and a step niece Donna Childs.
