Joseph P. Fay, Jr., 69, of Saugerties died Thursday November 14, 2024 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany in the comforting presence of his family. He was born June 13, 1955 in Kingston a son of the late Joseph P. Sr., and  Joan (Deyo) Fay.

Joe worked at the Boys and Girls Club of Ulster County, retiring as Executive Director after forty five years of service to the club in 2018. He was a member of the board of Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery, a past president and member of the Kiwanis Club of Kingston, where he was the former director of the Kingston Classic and was also involved in the Lions Club. Joe enjoyed skiing and golfing, especially in the Hacker League. He also played the drums in several local bands.

Surviving is his wife of seventeen years Laurie Fay and their canine companion Bindi, sister Barbara Larsen and her husband Charles, Kimberly Scott and her husband Robert. Nieces and nephews Marissa Fleming and her husband Brian, Adam Scott and his husband Greg, Lauren Gasher and her husband Richard, Jaime Porter and her husband William, Mackenzi Dugan and Kevin Dugan. Several great nieces and nephews also survive. He was a beloved godfather to Marissa Fleming, Jordyn Roosa, Brooke Doyne, and Matt Krakowski.

Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be made in the form of contributions to the Boys and Girls Club of Ulster County of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research .
