Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday, August 29, from 11:00 am to 1:00 PM.

A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, also at the funeral home, with burial at Mt. Marion cemetery immediately following.

June Needham, of Plainfield Street, Town of Ulster died August 21, 2023, at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY, with her husband by her side. She was 93. June was born in the Bronx, New York, and was the daughter of the late Fred and Anna Kasterlek.

June graduated from Kingston High School in 1947 and married Bill Dittus in 1948. June devoted many years to raising her six children, and when they were older, she returned to full-time work in Medical Records, ultimately retiring as Director of Medical Records at the Benedictine Hospital in Kingston. Bill passed away in March 1994.

In 1995, June married the Rev. John A. Needham. June and John were involved with numerous church activities, making many friends among the congregation. They loved to travel and enjoyed trips to many places including the Holy Land and Florida. Despite June's stroke in 2011, they continued their annual trips to Florida for years after.  June's favorite pastimes included doing jigsaw puzzles, reading, and crocheting.

June is survived by her husband, the Reverend John Needham; her children: Elizabeth Taylor (John), Stephan Dittus (June), Susan Freer, Peggy Nuss (John), Carolyn Dennison (Alan,) Patricia Dittus (Stephen Flores); step-children: Daniel Needham and Joyce Seaver; 8 grandchildren: Christopher and Lucas Taylor, Jessica and Danielle Dittus, William Freer, Matthew Nuss, Kristen Beaury, and Aaron Flores; 5 step- grandchildren: Amanda and Matthew Price, Anastasia Costache, Tatiana Needham and Jaime Reed; 7 great-grandchildren: Nikolena Taylor, Nolan and Lilah Vicente, June and Benson Beaury, James and Noah Freer; 1 step-great-grandchild: Lucas Costache; and good friend Wilma Seaver.

Her first husband William F. Dittus, sister Anne Dockery, aunt Adele Sinko, and grandson Andrew Taylor predeceased her.
