Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held Monday, November 4, 2024 at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
Karen Burger
, 72, of Ulster Park passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024, peacefully at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 12, 1952 in Mount Marion, NY, daughter of the late William and June (Tompkins) Reynolds.
Karen graduated from Saugerties High School. She went on to marry her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Fred Burger, on July 29, 1972. She held various jobs in her earlier years, none more important than a homemaker, being a devoted housewife and loving mother, which is the role she ultimately took on full time. Karen enjoyed various hobbies including camping, scenic countryside drives with her husband in their classic cars, crocheting and bird watching. Known for her caring nature and generous heart, she always put her family and the needs of others before her own.
Karen belonged to the Women's Group of the United Reformed Church in Bloomington, NY and former secretary to A.H. Wicks Engine & Truck Company volunteer fire department.
In addition to her loving husband of over 52 years, Fred Burger, she is survived by her children, Lynn Stich (husband Frank), Jason Burger (wife Kimberly), Lora Stephenson (husband Owen), and Teresa Burger; her grandchildren, Vanessa, Jacob (wife Rhianna), Chandler, Nathanal, Anastasia and Yianna; her great-grandchildren, Octavia and Roman; her brother Dennis Reynolds; as well as sister-in-laws Kathy Reynolds, Wilhelmina Buley and Gertrude Edwards, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Karen is pre-deceased by her sister, Diane North.
