Friends will be received for a memorial visitation at the funeral home on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 2 to 5 PM.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 11, 2023 , at 11 AM at St. Christopher's Church in Red Hook.
Kathleen Maurer, 99, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Ten Broeck Center with her family by her side.
Kathleen was born in Kingston on October 24, 1924, she is the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Etta Robinson.
She attended the Academy of St. Ursula and graduated from Kingston High School. Kathleen married Edgar "Bill" Maurer on September 14, 1947.
Mrs. Maurer was employed as a bookkeeper at Key Bank and after her retirement she was a teacher's aide in the Kingston City School District. She volunteered as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Kathleen was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting "Mimi" to her grandchildren and great- grandchildren .
Surviving are her children, Elizabeth Corrado and her husband Jerry, Donna Kwasnowski and her husband Paul, Kathleen Maurer, Penny Van Kleeck, and Michael Maurer; her grandchildren, Keri Savona and her husband Daniel, Kristin Davey and her husband Nicholas, Ryan Van Kleeck and his wife Jessica, Michael Corrado and his wife Christine, Erika Banka and her husband Brian, Kasey Van Kleeck and her husband David Brenes Mora, Kevin Kwasnowski and his wife Jill, and David Maurer (Simone Read).
Seventeen great-grandchildren also survive, Dylan, Keeley, Katelynn, Keegan, Jack, Elizabeth, Jackson, Kaden, Molly, Kiera, Madelyn, Drew, Martin, Jordan, Ty, Marco, and Finn. Her great-grandson, Daniel Philip predeceased her in 2004.
Kathleen was predeceased by her sisters, Marion King, Beatrice Deyo, Sister Jacqueline Robinson S.U. and her brother Walter Robinson.
Her husband Edgar "Bill" predeceased her in 2007.
Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be made in the form of contributions to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Kathleen's family would like to thank the staff of the Foxhall and Dewitt Units at Ten Broeck Center for the compassionate care of their mother.
