Kenneth Owen Gackstatter

Kenneth Owen Gackstatter, 77, passed away on September 2, 2025 at home in Kingston. He was born March 20, 1948 in the Bronx to Harry and Kathleen (Fenty) Gackstatter.

A graduate of SUNY New Paltz, Ken dedicated his professional life to teaching the developmentally disabled. Personally, he remained a student of numismatics, specializing in early American paper currency.

Ken is survived by his wife Cheryl (Blain) Gackstatter and children Kathryn, Sarah (Nicholas), and Christopher (Gina). He was a proud grandfather to Ryan, Maggie, and Stella. His siblings Patricia, Peter, and Aileen also survive him.

A private family memorial will occur in November. In lieu of flowers, the family requests the giver donate to their local food bank.
