Linda Jean Shaut

Family and friends will be received at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc. 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston on Wednesday from
2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Kendra Van Houten at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00 am.

Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Town of Ulster.

Linda Jean Shaut, 72, of Genesee Ave., Lake Katrine died at home on Saturday, February 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Kingston, a daughter of the late Stanley Kenneth and Marie Sabino Wojcio. Linda was a Kingston High School graduate and received a bachelor's degree from SUNY Fredonia.

A 37-year employee at I.B.M., Town of Ulster and Poughkeepsie, Linda began as a forklift driver and retired as a computer programmer.

Linda was very proud of her family's annual fundraiser, in her mother's memory, that featured her family in support of The Alzheimer's Association Hudson Valley Chapter. Over 13 years they donated over $90,000.

Loving wife of Robert Shaut with whom they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this March 30th; mother of Dan Shaut (Erika) of Lake Katrine, Andrea Shaut (Ed Norman) of Kingston, Gina Shaut of Lake Katrine and Dave Shaut (Holly) of Ontario, NY; grandmother of Jazlina, Gisella, Theo, Lexi, Viana and Hudson; sister of John Wojcio of Endicott and the late Lucia Wojcio.
