Lois J. Petramale, 97, of the Town of Ulster passed away in the comfort of her home on March 3, 2025. Born December 31, 1927, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Lillian (Langlois) Croswell.
She had a passion for making raspberry jam and canning tomatoes. Most visitors were happy to leave with a jar of jam. We learned early on to say yes when she offered to feed us. No one was going away hungry. She baked cakes from scratch and made her own icing. Her fried chicken tenders cannot be duplicated. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed her trips with the girls to the state tournament. She was an accomplished knitter and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Her home was command central and the door was always open. She was the heart of our family and an amazing Mom/Gram/Gigi.
Lois was employed by Smith Printing, the Kingston School District, and the Bank of America.
Lois is survived by her daughter Gail Golgoski, her sons Alan, William, John (Lisa), and Frank (Sheryl), her grandchildren Megan Golgoski, Melissa Hubbard (Mike), Jessica Keefe, Kristin Golgoski (Sean Correa), Richard Petramale (Veronica), Jessica Oakley (Derek), Eddie Golgoski, Kyle Petramale (Kelly), Dima Petramale and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Robert Lang (Terri).
In addition to her parents, Lois is predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Louis Petramale, Jr., her grandson Tyler Michael Petramale, and her siblings Irving, Iva, Dewitt, Roy, Eileen, Pauline, Raymond, and Cornelius.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to Hudson Valley Hieroes or Hudson Valley Hospice.
