Margaret DeAngelis, 81, of Kingston died Friday November 8, 2024 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. She was born on October 30, 1943 in Kingston, a daughter of the late Guido and Elizabeth (Nagy) DeAngelis.
Margaret worked for many years as a home healthcare aide in the area. In her earlier years she worked at Kingston Knitting Mills, Ireco and the former Macy's and Filene's. She was a sports fan, with her favorite team being the New York Yankees. Margaret was also an animal lover and had volunteered at the local SPCA. She loved horses and adored her cat Scarlett. Margaret also enjoyed spending time with her daughter's dogs, Pauly, Toby and Nikki, who loved her so. She also loved FaceTiming with her son's dog Mayo.
Surviving are her children Rhonda Langton (Jay), Donald Purdy (Terry), Robert Purdy (JP Baldwin), grandchildren Paul Shultis and Donna Purdy, great grandchildren Audrey, Isaiah, Noel, Gabriel, Sawyer, Lillyana. She is also survived by her siblings Gene DeAngelis, Edward DeAngelis, Sr., Rose Ferro, Marion Jablonski and Patricia Richter. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was predeceased by her longtime companion Donald Purdy, daughters Laura and Diana Purdy, granddaughters Diana and Abigail Purdy and siblings Robert, Francis, William, John and Tom DeAngelis, Audrey and Loretta Weiss.
