Margaret "Peggy" Dayton

Margaret "Peggy" Dayton, 68, passed away unexpectedly Sunday August 16, 2026 at home. She was born August 19, 1957 in Kingston, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Aileen Bushey.

A 1975 graduate of Kingston High School, Peggy carried a lifelong love for the ocean—so much so that if she could have been anything, she would have chosen to be a mermaid. An avid lover of the beach, the warm sunshine, and live country music at seaside festivals, she found endless joy in life’s simple treasures, earning the title of thrift store queen and never missing a good yard sale. Above all else, she was defined by her loyal and selfless love for her family and friends, for whom she would truly do anything. She brought that same boundless empathy to her work, spending her life as a hard-working, compassionate caregiver who cherished and deeply cared for every one of her clients.

She is survived by her sister Sandy Crane and her husband Bob, nephew Robbie Crane, her son Matthew Bushey and his fiancee Josolynn Lange, daughter Kacie Boynes, grandchildren Jakob Piratzky, Alanah Boynes, Jayden Boynes, Kayden Boynes, Aliyah Boynes. Her dear friends Lisa and Paul Scheffel, niece Stephanie Primo as well as many aunts and uncles also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Stevie Primo.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a time and date to be determined.
