Margarita Rabeiro Rodriguez

Margarita Rabeiro Rodriguez passed unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep Monday March 10, 2025.

Margarita migrated from her birthplace Havana, Cuba to Puerto Rico in her early teens with her mother, two sisters and brother. Graduated HS and attended vocational school for architecture. In 1987 moved with her three children to Union City, NJ, then Kingston in early 2000's. Worked as a Care taker until retiring in 2007. Margarita was passionate about strength training, and running marathons, earning many trophies and medals. She loved tropical beaches, Cuban/Puerto Rican music, dancing and singing like "everyone" was watching. Most of all she found profound joy in helping others.

Survived by three children, Drebra Sterling and her partner Amy Summers, Hyam Samar Perez and his partner Adriana DeRosa, Tashira Norris and husband Robert J. Norris. Her niece Mirka C. Vazquez, fiancé Steve Kurka and their children Adri and Jordan, a Nephew Eddie Calcaño. Grandchildren Jonathan Lee Norris and fiancé Thora Sweeney-Pawski, Allynah Margarita Norris, Brielle Charlize Perez, Dominic R Salamone, Laszlo Rey Sterling, and great-grandchild Elijah James Norris. She is also survived by her spouse Geronimo Hannibal, sister-in-law Doris Alonso, niece Noelia Garcia, and nephew Omar Garcia and their children, as well as many cousins and friends. In addition to her mother Paz Delia she was predeceased by her siblings Rafael Garcia, Mirta Garcia, and Elena Rabeiro.

Rather than mourning and sorrowful melodies at a funeral, Mami repeatedly requested a joyful gathering celebration full of laughter, music, and dance....."there must be Heineken".

Celebration gathering details to follow.
