Marion Jones

Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday September 30th, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.

A funeral home service will take place at 6:00 PM.

Cremation and inurnment will be held privately.

Marion Jones, 87, of Kingston died Sunday September 24, 2023 at HealthAlliance Hospital Mary's Avenue Campus. Born February 5, 1936 in Stony Hollow she was the daughter of the late Henry and Naomi (Baker) Beesmer.

Marion was a baker working for the Grand Union and also Deisings Bakery. Many years ago Mrs. Jones former neighbors put on a charity event for their church. There yard was not big enough to hold the event so Marion offered them to use her driveway. The first year it worked out so well that her driveway became the center of the event for the next seventeen years. Derrenbacher Street would become Santa Clause Lane for the night and the fire department would pull Santa's sleigh down the hill to her driveway where hundreds of people gathered anxiously awaiting Santa, Mrs. Clause and Frosty's arrival. Her house became known as the "Santa Clause House" and she looked forward to this event every year. Marion also enjoyed bowling and was a scrabble wizard.

Marion is survived by her sons; Randy and his wife Denise, Douglas, Jeffrey and Christopher Jones. Grandchildren Elizabeth Munson, Janis Jones and Amanda Dunham. Sisters; Delores West, Judy Karlovitz and brothers; Fred, Bill, Kenny and Gary Beesmer. Great-grandchildren Skylar Jones, Madison Jones Osewicki, Zachary Munson, Donovan Munson, Michael Canu, Hudson Canu and Eliana Dunham and great-great grandchild Sutton Fletcher. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband John A. Jones, a granddaughter Kimberly Jones Osewicki and her siblings; Mattie Hofbauer, Marlene Perry, George, Glen, Hank, Roger, Jimmy, Donald and Richard Beesmer.

Marion's wishes were for perennial plants to be sent so they may be planted in "Kimberly's Garden".
