Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 7 PM. A funeral service will begin at 7 PM.
Mary Rose Martin of Greenkill Avenue Kingston, died Tuesday March 24, 2026 at home. Born April 2, 1952 she was the daughter of James F. and Marion Castle.
A 1970 graduate of Kingston High School, Mary, started working at Met Life when she was eighteen. While working for Met Life, she purchased her house because her mother was sick and would have room which was utilized by the family throughout the years. She retired after forth nine and a half years of dedication at United Health Care as a claims adjuster. She loved bowling and softball and played in many leagues throughout the years. She loved watching her favorite crime programs, and reading Stephan King books. Her love for her cats as well as the feral cats in the yard which she would take in time to time over the years. She was a devoted family member, mom, wife,grandmother and friend to many. She would always help family and friends when she could. She lived her lifeas she wanted, simple but content. God's light was on her when she passed. She had faith so God was always with her.
Surviving is her son, Jeremy Castle and his fianceé Crystal Henry with Austin and Lindsey; her husband, Richard "Slick" Martin; granddaughter, Olivia Castle; her siblings, Angela Davis, James Castle, Joan Struble, Martin Castle, Eva Castle Goodman, Carol Castle.
She is predeceased by her sister, Lisa Castle.
A special thanks to Vanessa Williams-Lowe for taking care of her, sending her off with love, dignity, respect as well as Hospice for keeping her comfortable and that she was able to go home as she wished God's LIght was on her when she passed.
