Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday June 4th from 4-7 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday at St. Joseph's Church in Kingston.
Inurnment will follow in Hurley Cemetery.
MaryAnn Casey, 78 , of Hurley passed away peacefully Saturday May 31, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 19, 1947 in Kingston a daughter of the late Lawrence and Emily (Heins) Glennon.
MaryAnn graduated from Kingston High School in 1965, received her Bachelors and Master's Degrees from SUNY New Paltz in 1971 and 1991. After working as a medical secretary while raising her family, MaryAnn began her teaching career in the Kingston City School District in 1989 before transferring to Saugerties School District in 1993 where she was a math teacher at Saugerties High School. After her retirement in 2010, MaryAnn continued to share her guidance in mathematics by authoring math review books. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and Saugerties Schools Retirees Employees Association.
MaryAnn, a longtime resident of Hurley, was proud that her family roots tied back to the Dutch founders of Hurley. She was an avid reader, loved spending time with friends and family. In her retirement years, she delighted in journeying with friends and travel groups- from Alaska and Nova Scotia, Australia, Antarctica, and beyond. She will be lovingly remembered as a mother, wife, mentor and friend.
Surviving is her husband of fifty six years Arthur Casey, three daughters Cathleen Krom and her husband Garry, Eileen Casey, Debra Rainha and her husband Nuno, a sister Barbara Prelich and her husband Frank as well as nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in MaryAnn's name can be made to People's Place or Ulster County SPCA.
