MELVIN E. "JAKE" BLANSCHAN

Of US Route 9, died at his home on Tuesday June 24, 2025.  Born in Kingston, New York July 16, 1958 he was sixty six years of age. Jake is the son of the late Kenneth C. and  Althea (Passer) Blanschan.

He was employed Ulster Uniform until retirement. He was previously employed by Miron Truss for many years. Jake loved camping, fishing and being outdoors.

Surviving are his wife, Helen (Tyler) Blanschan. Children; Christopher Blanschan and his wife Christina, Lisa Smith and her husband Charles, Kenneth Blanschan. Stepchildren; Arthur Knapp and his wife Jessica, Frances Cruz, Gary Knapp his wife Lisa Knapp, Felicia Ellsworth (Andre Peterkin Jr.) Sister Wendy Coleman and her husband Jack. Seventeen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren many nieces and nephews also survive. Two sisters; Susan Blanschan , Wanda Winnie and a brother Wade "Manny" Blanschan predeceased him.
