A funeral service will be held at 12 noon and burial will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.

Olga Milano passed away Thursday August 15, 2024. She was born on June 20, 1947, and grew up in Queens, NYC where she enjoyed spending time with her parents and sister, Clara. They went on vacations together, spending time at Coney Island and other local amusements. Olga had a particular fondness for water, spending time in pools and lakes when she was young.  Her family moved to Wallkill, NY in 1969, when she was 22.  Apparently, she was not a fan of country life, and missed the hustle and bustle of the city.

Olga loved bananas with a passion.  She would even burst into laughter upon hearing the word "banana".  She also really enjoyed music, with a specific adoration for crooners like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, as well as pop artists like Kenny Rogers and the Beach Boys. Her eyes would light up when she would hear a particular song she loved.   While at Palmer, she would constantly be shaking a maraca or tambourine, day and night, sometimes making herself black and blue from hitting the instruments against her hands for so long.  She could often be found singing some of her favorite tunes along with the karaoke machine.  Even right up to a week before she ended up in her final stay at the hospital, she could be seen joyously clapping her hands and moving to the music at her day treatment program.   She also absolutely loved coffee and it was a great motivator for her throughout her life.

Olga didn't really enjoy being touched, and was known to have brief but explosive moments of expostulation that only made her more endearing to the staff that worked with her.

She is survived by her sister Clara Dragun as well as her friends and family at ARC Palmer Center and  ARC's Glasco House.
