Patrice "Pat" Quilty Halunen

Patrice "Pat" Quilty Halunen, 75, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Born and raised in Kingston, NY, she is the daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Leola S. Quilty. Pat was a 1966 graduate of the Academy of St. Ursula where she established life long friends. In 1972 Pat graduated from the College of Sacred Heart in Newton, Mass., and began a career as an executive with New England Telephone Co.  In 1973 she married Douglas A. Halunen and settled in Plymouth, Mass., where she raised her son Matthew. After an early diagnosis of MS, Pat spent her life bringing joy and her sense of humor to many especially as receptionist at Ulster ARC and later as a volunteer with the Ulster County Council on Aging. She travelled, hosted visitors and was always ready for the next adventure. She spent many summers with the family in Popponesset on Cape Cod, which remains today as the 'family house'. Pat spent her final years in Kingston after living in Florida and California.

Surviving are her son Matthew (Danielle) and grandchildren Radley and Sloan Halunen. She is also survived by 12 brothers and sisters: Marjorie Sutton (John), Dennis Quilty (Margaret), Kevin Quilty, Joan Quilty, Kathleen Neuffer (Joseph), Ellen Van Benschoten (Robert), Laurie Quilty (Nina Van Erk), Maureen Quilty, Timothy Quilty (Donna), Michael Quilty (Kerry), John Quilty (Renee) and Julie Quilty. She is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews and 4 great nieces and nephews.
