Paula Maggiore Orr, of the City of Kingston entered into the arms of our Lord on Monday October 28, 2024 at HealthAlliance Hospital on Mary's Avenue. Paula was born on October 23, 1959 in the Town of Ulster. She was the daughter of the late Lillian Buley Maggiore and Paul Maggiore.
Paula worked for many years as a manager in the lady's department of K-Mart. Paula loved crocheting and crafting. She was very proud of her crocheting hook collection of more than 160 that she had been collecting since she was 9 years old. Her favorite items to crochet were hats and scarves. When she had made too many, she would sell one item and then the customer would get five items for free!
Paula loved cooking food for her family, and everything she made was from scratch. She was very creative in the kitchen. Paula was a born comedian; she could make you and others around her laugh until your stomachs hurt. We would look at her in awe not knowing where she came up with the things she did - she was amazing! She has touched so many lives and will forever be missed.
Paula is survived by her husband of thirty-three years Joseph Orr. They married on February 14, 1991, but had been together for more than forty-two years. Her siblings Debra Maggiore, Bill Maggiore and Michael Maggiore and her cousin Christine Maggiore Feeney, whom she loved so much.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law Susan Maggiore and her furry children Lulu and Bubbie. Paula fought a courageous fight to fend off cancer for as long as she could. The family is so grateful for the nurses at HealthAlliance Hospital for their care and compassion that they gave to Paula. To the men from the Kingston Fire Department on E. O'Reilly Street, thank you for helping in Paula's time of need.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the American Cancer Society -121 Executive Drive New Windsor, NY 12553 or Ulster Hose Co. #5 - 830 Ulster Avenue Kingston, NY 12401.
