Peter Brittain

Peter Brittain –11/15/1944 – 3/4/2023

Peter Brittain was born in England, and died in a Kingston, N.Y. hospital on March 4th, 2023 after a long illness.  He was rarely hospitalized, and showed a fierce determination to live. He leaves his wife Lynne, and her three sisters Susan Bookless, Jean Sobalvarro and Anne McSweeney.  He also leaves two cousins, Ann Brewer in Georgia, and Margaret Dallman  in Oregon, and their many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He leaves a son, his wife, and a grandson in Colorado.  He was also the favorite uncle to Fredo Sobalvarro, Avel Escamilla, Bella Sobalvarro, and Gracie Sobalvarro;  as well as Matt McSweeney, Meghan McSweeney and Orion Conger.  He also leaves many friends.

Peter was a much loved man.  Many thought of him as their best friend.  Peter loved, and lived for skiing, sailing, and music.  He was in many bands over the years, and had his last gig two weeks before he died.  Peter believed in having fun, and many of us were able to go along on his adventures.    He was also incredibly thoughtful, generous, humble and quick witted.  He was a balm to many a weary soul.  He will be missed.
