Robert J. Benkert

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday  from 4pm to 7pm

A funeral service  will be held  at 6:30pm.

Private burial in  Montrepose Cemetery.

Robert J. Benkert, 81, of Kingston died Thursday April 27, 2023 at home. Born March 14, 1942 in Waterbury, Connecticut a son of the late John Joseph and Marie Rose (Elliott) Benkert.

Robert attended Kingston High School, served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963 in both Pensacola, Florida and Keflavic, Iceland.  He retired from Colony Liquor in 1996 after thirty one years of service. Following Colony, Robert was the manager of Allways Self Storage from 1999 till 2006.

Surviving is his wife, of almost sixty years, Patricia A. Benkert.  They were married July 19, 1963.  His sons, John Benkert and his wife Renai Benkert, and their sons, Matthew and Anthony of Kingston,and Paul Benkert and his wife Alison of Highland;  his grandchildren, Nicole, Caitlin, Emily, Sean and Ashley; his sister Nancy Ahrens ,and her husband Oscar of Kingston. Brother  William Brundage and his wife Donna of South Carolina;  his sister in law Jean Benkert of Kingston Nieces and nephews also survive.   A brother Joseph Benkert predeceased him.
