Friends will be received Saturday August 23rd at St. Colman's Church in East Kingston for memorial visitation from 10 AM until 11 AM.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM.
Roger J. Murphy, 82, lifelong resident of Kingston, passed away on August 13, 2025. He was born on December 28, 1942 to Joseph and Eleanor Murphy.
After graduating high school he joined the U. S. Air Force in 1963 where he served as an Air Force Base Fireman. Upon completing his military service he began his employment at EG & G/Rotron where he worked for 43 years. During his retirement, he found enjoyment in boating, fishing, golf, and casino trips. He also took great pleasure in spending time with family and friends.
Roger was pre-deceased by his parents, daughter Elizabeth, sisters Eileen, Eleanor, her husband Jimmy and their son Jimmy Pat, sisters in-law Beverly Chick and Lori Chick.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Julia, son Steven, wife Robin and grandchildren Craig and Lauren, sister in-law and brother in-law Marilyn and Joe Markle, and brothers in-law Julius Chick and Floyd Burgher, along with many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions, in Roger's memory, be made to American Legion Post 150 in Kingston.
