A celebration of life service will be held Sunday January 5th at 2:00 PM at Lomontville Assembly of God Church- 123 Ashokan Road Kingston, NY 12401.

Ronald E. Johnson Sr., 78, of the Town of Ulster died Saturday December 14, 2024 at his home. Born September 16, 1946 in Sharon, Connecticut he was the son of the late Kenneth and Mary (Eldridge) Johnson.

Ronald served our country in the United States Army during Vietnam, stationed in Germany. He was a bus driver for First Student Bus Company for over twenty years. He was a member of Lomontville Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed fishing, kayaking and had a joke for just about everything.

Ronald was survived by his wife of over thirty-one years June L. Poirier Johnson. His children Ronald Johnson Jr., Karen (Johnson) Decker, Stanley Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Ami Preston and Jessica Preston; stepchildren Jeremy L. Poirier and Joshua Poirier. Grandchildren Nicole Decker, Joseph Decker Jr., Jay Johnson, Kaitlyn Johnson, Zoey Johnson, Aidan Johnson, Katie Johnson, Jennifer and Jason Johnson; step-grandchildren Alexis Poirier and Adalynne Poirier and step great-grandchild Sanctuary A. Binney. Siblings Tina Kendall, Flora Whispell, Steven Johnson and Helen Lanier, nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son Andrew Johnson and many siblings.
