Roselyn Mary Riccio

Family and friends will be received at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, 27 Smith Ave., Kingston on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.

A funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Saturday at 8:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Saint Joseph's Church, Glasco.

Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery.

Roselyn Mary Riccio, of Glasco, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the age of 91.

Roselyn was born in Kingston, a daughter of the late John and Mary Lawrence Sisco. She resided in East Kingston until her marriage to Nicholas Riccio of Glasco on June 14, 1953.

A graduate of Kingston High School, Roselyn attended the Moran-Spencerian School of business where she excelled in dictation and transcription.

She started as a bank teller at the Savings and Loan Association of Kingston. Roselyn retired in 1994 in a management position at Key Bank in Saugerties. She had 44 years of banking experience and was well known by all her customers. Her profession was her passion. Her customers patiently waited in line for her to wait on them. In addition, she was a NYS Notary Public and was licensed to sell insurance products for Empire National Securities.

Her husband of 60 years, Nicholas Riccio, died April 26, 2014. Her sister Eleanor Sisco Spohrer and a stepbrother John Mayone died previously.

Surviving are her loving children John Riccio and his wife Maria Ferraro Riccio of Saugerties, and Rhonda Riccio Higby and her husband AJ Higby of Cottekill. Roselyn leaves behind her grandchildren that she loved and dearly adored, twins Joseph and Nicholas Riccio; Arthur Higby and his wife Colleen; and Ashley Higby.

Roselyn was a proud woman and had very high standards. If something was wrong, she would let you know. Her perfection showed through in everything she did from the way she dressed to never having one hair out of place on her head. She was very meticulous in everything she did. She was always so well kept and put together. Would not have it any other way! She carried herself well with much pride. Roselyn enjoyed cleaning way too much. But she also enjoyed cooking and baking. She made all the desserts for birthdays and holidays. She loved shopping. She could spend 4 hours in one store and walk out with not one package. She also loved spending time with family.

Roselyn was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Parish in Glasco. She held membership in the American Institute of Banking and was a member of St. Josephs Altar Rosary Society, the Glasco Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and the Glasco Gun Club Ladies Auxiliary, having served as an officer of each.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, St. Joseph Parish – Glasco or the Glasco Fire Company.
