It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ryan Joseph Hoffman on November 8, 2024, at the age of 26.

Ryan was born on September 30th, 1998, to Gary Hoffman and Diane Spies.  As the center of his family, each milestone in Ryan's life became a beloved family event, marking the joy and unity he brought to those around him.  He was full of energy and his infectious laugh could light up a room.  He had a spirit of inquiry that kept everyone on their toes and a never-ending love for his family.  Ryan also had a sweetness to his soul and always came to the defense of someone in need.

Ryan was smart, sensitive and athletic, and was known as "Hoff" to his countless friends and coaches.  Ryan was an excellent athlete and was good at any sport he pursued.  He had a passion for baseball where he achieved great success.  Ryan was his family's "Super Star" both on and off the field, and they were by his side for numerous practices, games and tournaments.  His Grandpa Joe Hoffman, his Poppy Frank Spies and his Uncle Erich Spies along with his parents and aunts, spent many hours playing catch or shooting hoops with Ryan.  Sports were absolutely part of his DNA.

Ryan attended Ulster Community College and eventually worked for Verizon, where he became an integral part of their sales team.  He earned promotions and accolades for his work, and he truly loved his job. Ryan was very modest about his achievements and shied away from the praise his family bestowed on him.

Ryan is survived by his parents, Gary Hoffman and his partner Jody Adamski, Diane Spies and her husband Joseph DeCapua, his grandmother Florence Hoffman, his Uncle Robert Hoffman and his wife Mari Hoffman, and Aunts Heidi Gannon and her husband John Gannon, Lori Brewer, Valerie Luedeke, Stacy Spies and cousins Jessica, Adam, Kristy, Teddy and Shelby.  Ryan was predeceased by his grandfather's Joseph Hoffman and Frank Spies and his nanny Elene Spies, his Uncle Erich Spies and Joseph "Little Joe" Hoffman.

Ryan's beautiful and caring soul will be missed by his loving family and all of his many friends.

Flowers are welcome, or donations may be made in Ryan's memory to: High Watch Recovery Center, 62 Carter Road Kent, CT  06757.
