Sarah Mary Kocsis Lyons

Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday from 4pm to 7pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph's Church  Friday  at 10:00 AM.

Inurnment will be private in Saint Mary's Cemetery.

Sarah Mary Kocsis Lyons, 97, passed away April 10 at Arch Care at Ferncliff, after a brief illness.

Born in Glasco, NY October 15, 1928  to Lawrence  and  Agnes Long Machione. Sarah graduated from Empire State College and was employed for 40 years in civil service by the Ulster County Department of Social Services. At the time of her passing she was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Esopus Seniors, Sunshine Girls, and the VFW Auxiliary.

Sarah is survived by her dear daughter and caregiver Teresa R.  Kocsis, beloved son and daughter-in-law James and Cherie Kocsis, son and daughter-in-law Richard and Jeannette Kocsis, grandchildren Alyssa (Ryan Moore) and William Kocsis, Richard Kocsis, great grandchildren Taiya and David Kocsis-Moore, and many nieces and nephews. Her sister Angela Yerry survives.

Predeceased by eight siblings,  husbands, Richard Kocsis and William Lyons.
