Scott Tienken 61, formerly of Ulster Park, passed away Sunday, May 21st after a long illness. Scott was a talented self-employed carpenter throughout his life. A truly skilled craftsman, he had a gift for fixing, building, and creating with exquisite perfection anything he could conceptualize. He had an almost endless amount of interests and hobbies throughout his life, and was a natural at anything he put his attention on.

As a motorcycle enthusiast and talented rider, he may or may not have outrun many police cruisers in his younger years in Ulster Park. Scott was an extremely intelligent person who educated himself in his lifetime, exploring literature, journals, and any books he could get his hands on. He was knowledgeable on a wide range of topics-from religion, astronomy, history, nature, to current events and politics. If you had a question, you could call Scott who could easily expand the depths of an answer with his knowledge.

He leaves behind one son, Justin, who carries the same love of learning and curiosity as his father. He was immensely proud of Justin and all his accomplishments. Although he did not say it enough, we know he credited Justin's mother, Evelyn, for raising Justin when Scott was not able to be fully present. Scott's father, Robert Tienken passed away in 1976 and he always carried a deep sadness regarding this loss. He also leaves behind his mother, Patricia (Haber) Reynolds, a brother, Todd, a sister, Judy, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his loyal lifelong friend, Richie Donahue.

We know now that he is at rest. In loving memory of Scott, go for a motorcycle ride, read a book, forage for mushrooms, or have a heart-to-heart with someone you care about.
