Sharon Ann DeLuca, 75, of Kingston passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 15, 2024 at HealthAlliance Hospital: Mary's Avenue Campus in Kingston while surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 20, 1949 in Kingston, a daughter of the late Vincent P. DeLuca and B. Jean (Diamond) DeLuca.
Sharon was a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Ursula's Academy. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years in numerous locations throughout the area, including Benedictine Hospital, the former Ulster Greene ARC, Northeast Center for Special Care, Ulster County Jail, and as a home healthcare nurse in a private-duty work capacity.
Throughout her life Sharon's hobbies included horse riding, sewing, knitting, various craft making, watching old Western movies, and collecting vintage nursing trinkets and gadgets. She was an avid reader and lover of books, and never missed a Shark Week.
Surviving are her children Darren A. Barnes, Danielle B. Davis-Conklin (Walter Conklin), Barry W. Davis (Sara Ramsey) and Demi J. Tommasino (Joseph Calderón), all of Kingston. Grandchildren: Kameryn A. Stanley, Kendall C. Barnes, Jordan M. Conklin, Sydney R. Davis, Hayden A. Davis and her former daughter in law Jennifer Rich. An advocate for ethical animal treatment and rehabilitation, Sharon is also survived by beloved pets. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Jeanne Elizabeth Jones.
Per Sharon's wishes, no formal services will be held. A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, the SPCA, and Friends of Animals.
