Shatara Jackson - Williams, 43 of Kingston, New York passed away suddenly  Monday February 5, 2024 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus.

Shatara Jackson - Williams was born July 13th, 1980 in Bedford - Stuyvesant Brooklyn New York. She was the daughter of Anita Jackson and the late Ernest Wright. Shatara, also affectionately known as "TARA" was the oldest of her mother's five children.

From Bedstuy, East New York, to Coney Island she was well known and loved. Tara had a great sense of humor and was outgoing. Tara is known for her generous spirit; she selflessly gave her time and love to support her family and friends. Tara was optimistic. Despite facing challenges, she maintained a positive outlook on life. She was resilient. Tara was always a fighter, never a quitter.

Shatara obtained her G.E.D. and attended the college of New Rochelle in Brooklyn. Tara loved to learn new things. If there was anything Tara could not do, she did her research to execute whatever it was that she wanted to do. Shatara loved figuring out how things worked. She even knew how to fix cars. The Mrs. I can do it all myself.

Shatara had started and formed a sisterhood circle called "THE GANG OF ROSES". A group of women nicknamed after roses on their journey of life together. Tara was called the "EVIL ROSE". Sisters lending a hand to one another in times of need. Tara created a safe space in her circle as well as her homes to make people feel heard and valued. She will be remembered as a loyal friend who always stood by her loved ones through thick and thin.

In 2010 Shatara relocated to Kingston, New York with her three children and began work as a Healthcare Professional in nursing homes and a Support Professional for the ARC of Ulster County.

Shatara was a very talented entrepreneur. A fashion designer in her own right. She could cut up some jeans and spray paint them and make them look like the most top notched name brand jeans in the world. Tara was very creative and great at anything she put her mind and hands to. Especially when it came to braiding and styling hair. THE BEST. Tara started her own line of sweat suits with her own designs, She also had an eye for décor. She could take the smallest room and change it in a thousand ways.

Shatara was devoted to her faith in God and her family. Nothing else mattered. She was a devoted wife, loving daughter, sister, mother. Shatara is a cherished grandmother she will be forever missed.

Shatara is survived by her mother Anita Jackson, her husband Rayshon Ma'Lique Williams. Her children Shanita Jackson, Anthony Jackson, and Kevin Johnson. Her grandchildren Zakieem Jackson, Anthony Jackson Jr., Zy'Maire Jackson and Zy'Kaylah Jackson. Her siblings Frederick Jackson, Devonne Jackson, Avonna Jackson, Alzaiah Jackson, Nickara Braithwaite, Tykeira Maurissa Wright, Tameeka Valdez, Mary Wright-Orta, Maurice Wright, Tyrique Williams, Melshon Wright, Keshana Harris, Malaysia Grainger, Winston Stewart, James Washington, Dorothy Washington, and Ronald Washington.
