Shirley F. Burns

A memorial visitation will be held at the Hurley Reformed Church on Saturday May 10, 2025 from 10:30 am - 11:30 am.

A memorial service will be at 11:30 am. Inurment will follow at Hurley Cemetery

Shirley F. Burns , 97, of Hurley, NY passed away at home on Monday April 28, 2025. Born in Kingston, NY on April 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Florence W. (Radcliffe) Freer.

Shirley held several positions during her working career. She worked at Hercules Powder Co. during the war, a Beautician at Mickey's Salon on North Front St. Kingston, NY, and Kingston Schools at Meyer Elementary, in Hurley, NY. In later life, Shirley volunteered at The Hurley Library, Hurley Stone House Day as a guide and The Hurley Heritage Society. Shirley was a lifelong member of The Hurley Reformed Church and served on the consistory as well as being a member of the Women's Quilting Guild of the church.

Shirley is survived by her children: Ronald F. (Patricia) Burns Jr. and Brian M. (Kelly) Burns, and her grandchildren: Jenna and Kyle. Many Nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her husband of 75 Years, Ronald F. Burns, Sr. and their son Gerald R. Burns. Also, her siblings, Janice Wolf and Gerald S. Freer and sister-in-law Margaret Freer.

Shirley's family would like to extend a special thank you to Judy and Narva, her personal care aides, who gave her excellent and loving care.
