Shirley A. Relyea

Shirley A. Relyea, 80 , of Eastern Parkway, our mom, passed away quietly at home on Sunday December 28, 2025 with her family at her side. Born April 4, 1945 in Kingston a daughter of the late George Relyea and Mildred Markle.

Employed in the local garment industry, she worked at Dawn's Dress Factory and Amendola Dress Factory. She was a PCA for Anytime Home Care until she retired. Shirley loved to dance and sing, traveling on vacations, crafting for the holidays, baking and cooking, her chili was the best. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going to church when she could. She loved watching western movies and listening to country music.

Surviving are daughters Helen Halstein and her husband Robert, Sharon Whispell and two other daughters. A sister Peggy Romeo. Grandchildren Angela Halstein, Robert Halstein, Jr., Karlie Whispell, George James Guldy, and four other grandchildren, great grandchildren Atlas Plaza, Ares, Ryan and Jameson Halstein, Faith, Sabrina, Leland and Able and three other great grandchildren. Two sons, James Johnson, Gerard Guldy as well as siblings Andrew and George Relyea, Margaret Campbell and Helen Relyea predeceased her.

Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston. www.jvleahyfh.com  Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 3 to 6 pm, a service to be held at 6pm. Burial in Mt Marion Cemetery at a later date.
