Mass to follow at Saint Mary's Church.

Steven D'Amato passed away peacefully at Alliance Healthcare Hospital in Kingston, NY on June 3, 2023. Born on August 19, 1952 in Brooklyn NY, Steven was the eldest child of Peter D'Amato and Josephine Termine of Brooklyn, NY.
Steven had an immense love for his family and friends, treasuring the moments he spent with them. His infectious smile easily won the hearts of those around him. With a lighthearted nature and a genuine love for laughter, he brought joy to those in his presence. Steven will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Steven had a great passion for music. His favorite artists ranged from The Beatles to Neil Diamond. You could always find Steven sitting outside with his iPod playing his favorite songs. He was also a lifelong fan of the NY Giants and eagerly looked forward to football Sundays. His hobbies included bowling, hunting, dancing, fishing, playing cards, drawing, and of course watching gangster movies. He loved good Italian food and coffee, and enjoyed eating out.
A proud New Yorker, Steven spent his earlier days working in the maintenance department at the Veteran's Hospital, in Brooklyn where he retired. Later in life he relocated to the Catskill mountains, a place that held countless joyful memories from his childhood summers. He will be laid to rest in Grand Gorge, NY, a place he held dear and that holds a special significance and rich history within his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his sister JoAnn Baratta and brother-in-law Raymond Baratta, sister Denise D'Amato, and sister Laura D'Amato Barrett-Nutting. Nephew Raymond Baratta and and his wife Bonnie Baratta, niece Jacqueline Beyer and her husband Thomas Beyer, niece Gracie and nephew Josh. Great nieces Julia, Alda, and Kailyn, great nephews Ayden, Emerson, and Trey. There were many close cousins whom he loved so dear.
