Sylvan A. Wilson
Beloved father and brother

Sylvan A. Wilson, 62, of Kingston, NY, sadly passed on Friday, December 19, 2025. Born December 4, 1963 in St. Thomas, Jamaica, W.I., was the son of the late Hopie and Lola (McLean) Wilson.

A devoted father, close brother and cherished friend who worked as a Personal Care Assistant at Any-Time Home Care and Care Alternative of Mid-Hudson in Kingston, NY at the time of his passing, but held many jobs throughout his life. He was an avid music enthusiast, always ready with a song or a joke to lift spirits. His jovial nature and wittiness made him a beloved presence at family gatherings, community events and casual get-togethers. Sylvan had a talent for turning ordinary moments into memorable celebrations.

Survived by sons Sylvan Jr. and Aashiq, daughters Aniece, Adiani, Ayla and Cynara, stepdaughters Katherine and Naturi, sisters Delrose, Marcia, Donna and Valerie, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Sylvan's family extended beyond the U.S., with many close relatives residing in Jamaica, W.I., Canada and England, UK. His love for family was evident in the frequent visits and calls with his extended family and shared memories he cherished. Most of all, his love for family was shown through the care and devotion he gave to all his children, day in and day out. Sylvan worked incredibly hard to make sure his children had a great life. Although he worked more than one job for all their lives, he ensured that he spent quality time with them all. His frequent trips with them to the park and out to dinner, teachings of how to cook his homeland meals and emphasis on not quarrelling with each other, will remain precious memories for each of his children.

Sylvan's legacy is one of laughter, love and an unwavering commitment to his children and family. He will be remembered for his serious jokes, bluntness, warm smile, his ability to bring people together, the music that filled his home and the great food he filled many bellies with. His spirit will live on in the stories he shared, the joy he spread and the many pictures he took.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making donations in support of the four Wilson children who lived with him. Please address to The Wilson Children, P.O. Box 1093, Kingston, NY, 12402.
