Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday July 2nd from 4-7 PM.

A funeral procession will form Thursday 9 AM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM St. Colman's Church in East Kingston.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Thomas J. V. Cole Jr. 82, of East Kingston died Sunday June 29, 2025 at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. He was born Febuary 07, 1943 in Kingston New York son of the late Mr. Thomas Cole Sr. and Mary Lucci Cole. Tom was married 44 years to the late Rose Marie Gallo Cole.
Father to Travis Cole and Lee Ann Zanos (Chris Zanos). Grandfather to Taylor, Michael, James, Jase and Avery.

Thomas was a proud lifelong resident of Kingston, NY. He passed away surrounded by his loving family. Tom was a man of deep commitment to service, family, and community. Born and raised on Third Avenue in Kingston, Tom attended Immaculate Conception School,  Kingston High School and the New York State Fire Academy. He also served honorably in the Army National Guard and completed Military Officer School, laying the foundation for a lifetime of leadership and public service.Tom worked for many years as a Manager at Hercules Ireco Dyno Nobel. As well he maintained a professional and respectful relationship with federal government agencies.

A passionate and decorated member of the fire service, Tom was a Past Chief of the East Kingston Fire Department and  was a member of ASIS International, a past member of both the Ulster County Firemen's Association and the New York State Fire Chiefs and Fire Police Associations. Chief Cole completed numerous New York State fire service training courses during his tenure. Tom was also a proud member of the East Kingston Rod and Gun Club, the Hudson Valley Sportsmen's Association, and the American Legion. An avid outdoorsman, he loved camping, hunting, riding motorcycles and ATVs, and both ice and stream fishing. His hobbies included tying fishing flies and crafting turkey calls—pursuits that reflected his love for nature and attention to detail. Tom cherished time with his family. He also enjoyed time at his beloved summer home in Mt. Tremper, where many lasting memories were made. He leaves behind his children, grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
