Victoria "Vicki" Brooks, 59, of Kingston passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at HealthAlliance Hospital: Mary's Avenue Campus, with her husband by her side. Born May 19, 1963 in Oceanside, NY she is the daughter of Valerie Groller of Saugerties and the late Bruce Wilder Warden of Shokan.

Vicki and family moved to Shokan, NY in 1968 where she enjoyed a wonderful childhood filled with outdoor adventures and many neighborhood friends. Vicki attended Onteora High School and went on to complete her undergraduate degree at SUNY Oneonta as well as her masters degree at SUNY New Paltz. She met her husband, Kevin, at the YMCA day camp in Shokan, NY, where they both worked as camp counselors. They fell in love and created a beautiful life together. Vicki was a devoted school teacher at Chambers Elementary School, in Kingston, for over 30 years. She loved her job and touched the lives of many, many students. Vicki was a faithful and devout Christian and was a member of Grace Community Church in Lake Katrine. Vicki enjoyed reading, cooking, good food and restaurants, taking walks with her girls, playing card games, watching black and white movies (Cary Grant), and having her morning coffee with her husband. Her most favorite thing to do was spend time with family. Whether it was taking family vacations, or simply sitting outside on their deck at home, Vicki's most adored times were times spent surrounded by her husband, her 3 girls, and her grandson.

Vicki was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer in January of 2023. She fought extremely hard and never gave up. During her battle with cancer, Vicki remained positive and faithful. She put her fate and her trust in God's hands and knew he would lead her through this most challenging time. Vicki received care at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. Her husband and girls would like to thank the doctors and staff at MSK for their devoted care to Vicki.

Surviving is her husband of 36 years Kevin Brooks, her daughters Kelly Petramale and her husband Kyle, Jillian & Kristen Brooks, a grandson Tyler Petramale, a sister Dawn Moore and her husband James, mother Valerie Groller and husband James Every, step brothers and sisters Frederick Hutton, Elaine Wolf (Terry), Joseph Hutton (TraceySue), John Hutton, Kevin Hutton (Chris).
