The Post family will receive friends on Sunday February 19th from 2 PM to 5 PM at the funeral home.

A funeral procession will form 9 AM Monday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM at Saint Joseph's Church, 242 Wall Street Kingston. A livestream of the funeral mass may be viewed here

Burial will follow in Hurley Cemetery.

Vincent Charles Post of Hurley, NY, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife and children at his bedside. He was 87 years old. Vincent was born on December 21,1935 in Kingston, NY, the son of Kenneth and Rose (Kelly) Post.

Vincent attended Kingston High School and graduated in 1953. He began his career at IBM Kingston, NY and enlisted in the US Army, serving for two years beginning at Fort Dix, NJ and eventually stationed at Bremerhaven,Germany,where he completed his commission in 1958. Upon returning to the United States, Vincent rejoined IBM in Kingston. NY. In 1959 he married Mary Barbara Kelsch where they began their life together in Kingston and over the years built two homes in Hurley where they celebrated the birth of their 4 children (Barbara, Stephen, Chris and Greg). He enjoyed a successful 35 year career at IBM working between Poughkeepsie and Kingston, retiring in 1989 as a senior systems analyst.

Vincent was active and involved in his community. He coached Little League in Hurley for many years, coaching his sons. He was also an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and as a parishioner, he served on multiple committees over the years including Friday Night Bingo, Annual Parish Picnics at Forsyth Park, Church/School maintenance committee and Church finance committee. He was also active in the cub scout's organization.

Vincent enjoyed his passion of outdoor activities including running,walking and tending to his Rose garden at his home in Hurley. Beginning in high school Vince found his love and talent for art and painted many outdoor settings of streams and winter scenes throughout the years. As an avid fisherman he spent many early mornings and evenings fishing at the Ashokan Reservoir while enjoying some quiet time in his rowboat alongside his children. Some of his favorite fishing streams were throughout Ulster and Dutchess County where he mastered fly fishing for rainbow trout.

Vincent is survived by his wife Mary Barbara Post (Kelsch), daughter Barbara A. Norton, her husband Douglas (Jim) Norton of Red Hook NY, son Stephen V. Post, his wife Judy (Kramp) Post of Allentown, PA., son Christopher P. Post, his wife Donna (DeGraff) Post of Saugerties, NY., son Gregory A. Post, his wife Lisa(Lorenzatti) Post of Holden, MA, along with 9 grandchildren: Kaitlyn Norton, Nicholas Norton, Morgan Post, Zachary Post, James Post, Joshua Post, Timothy Post, Benjamin Post and Jillian Post.
