The White Eagle Benevolent Society will conduct a ritual at 6:00 PM
Post 1386 VFW will conduct a ritual at 6:30 PM
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 4th, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church on Delaware Avenue.
Inurnment of ashes will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date .
William Arthur (Bill) Tubby, 84, of Kingston, NY died suddenly on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on January 25th, 1939, he was a native Kingstonian who attended school in Kingston, earning an honorary diploma from Kingston High School over a decade ago. He served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Ranger from March 1957 until March 1963.
Bill worked at the cement plant in East Kingston; he was a security guard at the Ulster County Office Building, Ulster County Mental Health and at IBM Poughkeepsie. Before retiring, he worked security at the Ulster County Probation Department on Broadway in Kingston.
Bill was a proud member of the Joyce-Schirick Post 1386 Veterans of Foreign Wars Color Guard and a past president/proud member of the White Eagle Benevolent Society; he was also a proud member of the U.S.S. Ranger CVA-61 Reunion group.
Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather as well as a loyal friend. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn T. Tubby (Skop), his 4 children, Susan M. Mattice (Larry), William J. Tubby (Tim), Matthew G. Tubby (Debbie) and Walter J. Tubby, his 4 grandchildren, Jessica Mattice, Alexis Tubby, Walter Tubby and Brandon Tubby as well as his sisters Audrey Albright, Maryann Parker and Thomas Tubby. His parents, William S. Tubby and Arabel Smith, sisters Carol Forte and Barbara Brandow, brothers Woodrow Smith, Robert Tubby, Bruce Tubby and Vincent Kelder and granddaughter Hope Mattice predeceased him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Joyce-Schirick Post 1386 Veterans of Foreign Wars, 708 East Chester Street, Kingston, NY 12401.
