A funeral service will take place at 7 PM.
William McDermott, Sr., 84 died Friday August 7, 2026 at HealthAlliance Hospital:Mary's Avenue Campus. He was born December 5, 1941 in Brooklyn.
For many years, he was employed by Teamsters Local 445 where he served as shop steward in his later career. He was an avid golfer and in his later years, Bill enjoyed spending time with friends, having a beer and sharing stories.
Surviving is his wife of fifty three years Barbara McDermott, his son William McDermott, Jr. (Jennifer Harvey), grandchildren Madison and Nicholas McDermott, a brother Joseph McDermott, sister Margaret "Peggy" Kelly, brother and sisters in laws John Cardinale, Mildred Boughton and Pat Riggins. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
He was predeceased by his daughter Cynthia "Cindy" McDermott and sister Barbara Noonan.
