Francis J. Monahan Iii

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 26th, 2019 from 3 pm-6 pm. A funeral service will begin at 6 PM.

Francis J.Monahan lll, (Frank) 69, of Bronxville, NY most recently Kings Highway Saugerties , Frank died Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 at home with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Frank is survived by his loving children Megan Monahan Baker, Dustin Monahan Son in law David Baker Jr, his beloved grandchildren Mariah Santiago, Haley Baker and Jayden Baker His sister Elizabeth Monahan McDermott and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents Francis J. Monahan Jr, Kathleen Walsh Monahan; and his late sisters Kathleen Monahan Murphy and Maureen Monahan Myers

Frank was born on February 1st, 1950 at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York NY. Frank was a graduate of St Thomas More School in CT followed by Nathaniel Hawthorne College in NH. In 1988 he graduated with honors from The Culinary Institute of America in hyde park NY. Over the course of the last 40 years, Frank worked as an Executive chef at numerous establishments including Stone Harbor Inn NJ, The Hudson river club, Fluties at the South Street Seaport, The Exchange Nj, Old Blue Public House CT, SUNY Maritime College and most recently The Oheka Castle restaurant in Huntington NY. Frank loved to cook and enjoyed teaching others his passion.

Frank will forever be remembered as a devoted Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, and friend to many and for his larger than life personality and a love for adventure Frank was tough with a heart of gold, his smile,  Quick-wit and humor would light up a room. The family is deeply saddened by the loss of such an amazing man, but find comfort knowing off all the lives he has touched.
