AS REQUESTED BY THE FAMILY DUE TO THE WEATHER, VISITATION TIMES HAVE BEEN MOVED TO 4 TO 8 PM TODAY.
A funeral home service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM.
Burial will follow in St. Remy Cemetery.
John Saltis, 77, of Fair Street Kingston died Friday December 29, 2017 at Golden Hill Healthcare Center in Kingston. Born December 16, 1940 in Poughkeepsie, New York he is the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Jane (Robertson) Saltis.
John served our country for sixteen years in the US Army Reserves. John was a restaurant manager for Carrols Corporation-Burger King in Wappingers, South Hills Mall, and also Kingston New York. John was known as the "Sidewalk Superintendent of Fair Street". He loved visiting Stewart's, Cake Box Bakery, and Kings Pizza. He had a love for animals and especially enjoyed feeding birds.
He is survived by his wife of twenty four years Beverly Jean "BJ" (Kluepfel) Saltis of Kingston; his daughters Kimberly "Kimmie" Johnson, Robin "Robbie" Lloyd and her husband Mike, both of Orlando, Florida and Jean Vincent of Kingston; siblings Nickelin Weaver and her husband Terry and Sandra Lisa and her husband Joe, both of Johnstown, NY; grandchildren Bradley, Lexi, Matthew, Andrea and Patty; great grandchildren Gabriel, Keagan, and Baylee, many nieces and nephews a brother in law Joseph Kluepfel as well as a beloved canine companion Max also survive.
He is predeceased by a feline companion Mr. Mittens.
