Mary C. Van Loan, 56,
of Kingston, passed away at home August 17, 2017.
Born January 26, 1961, to the late Edward Floyd Van Loan and Maureen C. Van Loan, Mary grew up in Port Ewen. She made friends wherever she went. Mary moved to Seattle, Washington in the late 1970's but returned to the Kingston area after several years. She was always loved by all who knew her. We will remember Mary for her hugs, her smiles, her happy laugh, and the joy she brought to the room whenever she entered. Mary battled cancer for several months and was focused on her treatment and improvement. Her sudden passing was a great loss to her family and friends.
Mary was one of the most positive people you could ever meet. She found the good in everything and savored the great joy of being around her family and friends. She was also a very intelligent and hard worker, spending over a decade at Met Life in Kingston and was employed for over fifteen years with the United States Postal Service.
Mary was the loving mother of three children. Timothy D. Coffey and his wife Ashley of Kingston; Theodore E. Pugliese and his close companion Kristen Sillik of Kingston; and Andrea R. Pugliese and her close companion Jacob Riker of Highland. Mary was thrilled to become the grandmother of Christian Jacob Riker this year.
In addition to her children and grandson, Mary is leaves behind her mother, Maureen Van Loan of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, six siblings, Leslie Banks (Kenneth) of Kingston, Christine Prehn (John) of Lake Katrine, Patricia Van Loan of Kingston, Edward V. Van Loan of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, James Van Loan (Doreen) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Gerard Van Loan (Katherine) of Kingston and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
