Bernard C. Gray, the owner and president of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., joined Mr. Joseph V. Leahy in July 1988 after employment in funeral service in New York City and Westchester County, New York.
Born in Kingston, New York, he was educated in Kingston Schools and graduated from John A. Coleman High School. He entered the Mortuary Science program at The State University of New York at Farmingdale, graduated in 1980, and was licensed in New York to practice in 1981.
Active in the community, Bernie was a member of Kiwanis, served on the Board of The Boys' and Girls' Club of Kingston, was a member of Division One Ancient Order of Hibernians (past grand marshal of The St. Patrick's Parade), Kingston Council 275 Knights of Columbus, and was past president of the Town of Esopus Little League.
Bernie and his wife Beth have three children, William, Nathaniel, and Anna Sophia, and live in the Town of Esopus.

Will was the recipient of the New York State Funeral Directors Association Certificate of Merit as being the student in the Class of 2012 who best typifies the highest ideals of the funeral service profession.
Active in the community; Will was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Pipes & Drum Band. He is a member of the Ulster Hose Co. 5 Fire Department and the American Society of Embalmers.

Raised in Saugerties, New York, he is a graduate of Saugerties High School. He entered the Mortuary Science Program at the American Academy McAllister Institute of Mortuary Science, graduating in 2024. Thomas grew up in the business and, during his education, worked as the Assistant Superintendent of Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery and Crematory in Kingston, NY giving him a unique experience in all aspects of the funeral industry.
Outside of work, Thomas loves to spend his time learning new skills. Everything and anything, such as cooking from scratch, hiking and exploring the Hudson Valley, as well as computer building and other craftsmanship.
