There IS a Difference in Funeral Homes

At the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., it is our commitment to ensure that our licensed funeral professional, Bernard C. Gray, is here to guide you through the experience of your loss. From the initial arrangements to the final disposition. We pay particular attention to every detail. We will handle everything possible for your family during this difficult time. Some of the items we handle for your convenience include contacting your clergy person, ordering flowers, publishing newspaper notices, coordinating plans with your cemetery, securing certified copies of death certificates, contacting Social Security, coordinating veterans' benefits through local VA offices or through a National Cemetery, handling insurance claims at your request, or even helping with hotel accommodations for out-of-town visitors. We are available anytime of the day or night, every day of the year, in the event of a family emergency.

Technical Preparation:

We believe in accountability in our technical preparation. At the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. our licensed professional funeral directors take great personal care in the preparation of a loved one's mortal remains, as if one of their own. We believe that when a funeral director is called upon to serve a family, it is an expectation of that family that we will utilize all of our skills to the best of our ability when asked to prepare their loved one. We make every effort to ensure that the focal point of every funeral serves as a natural memory picture. We are committed to continuing education to enhance our skills, and we participate above and beyond the minimum standards set forth by NYSDOH.

Planning for an “After-the-Funeral” gathering: Our dedicated staff will provide you with assistance in making arrangements with banquet halls, restaurants, or caterers for an "After-the-funeral" gathering. We will gladly make suggestions for the gathering.

Inflation-proof funeral planning:

All services are offered on a pre-planned basis to alleviate emotional stress at a difficult time. There are many pre-arrangement options available at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. to discuss with you, and at your convenience.

The calling of the funeral director is

  • To be there when someone is in need.
  • To be there no matter the time or the conditions.
  • To be there with words of comfort and concern.
  • To be there to give quiet guidance through the storm.
  • To be there for the final tribute that honors a life.

There is no higher privilege.
